A premium activated carbon media for all aquaria and ponds

Description TheReef® Aqua-CARB™ media is made from a premium grade pH neutral virgin activated carbon, that has been especially designed for use in aquatic filtration. This carbon has been subjected to a carefully controlled steam and heat activation process in order to produce an exceptionally high internal surface area with an optimum pore size for absorption of a broad range of high and low molecular weight organic contaminants. Combined with its fine 1mm granular form this presents a massive activated surface area that can rapidly trap, bind and remove pollutants from the water. Aqua-CARB™ is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater use. Guidance Depending on the pollution load, we suggest you use 50ml-100ml of media per 100 litres of aquarium water. Replace the media every 4-6 weeks. The media's effectiveness is driven by its contact time with the aquarium water. The longer the contact time, i.e. the slower the water flow through the media, the more effective the media will be. Rinse the granules before use. |
